Bend Speech-Language Therapy For Children
Stephanie J. Marz, M.A.CCC-SLP, M.A. ECSE / EI is the owner of Bend Speech Express, a private practice dedicated to the treatment of childhood speech and language disorders. She has a national certification and Oregon state board licensure in Speech-Language Pathology. Stephanie began her career in 1995 and established her private practice in 2002 after working in a variety of settings.
Prior to establishing the Bend Speech Express in 2002, Stephanie worked in a variety of settings including preschools and public schools, speech-language clinics, and medical settings. Stephanie's post-graduate fellowship included work at the Portland Veterans Administration Medical Center, The Eugene Hearing and Speech Center and Sacred Heart Medical Center. She was on faculty at the University of Oregon where she taught a clinical practicum class and supervised graduate student clinicians.
After moving to Bend in 1996, Stephanie worked for the Bend La Pine School District providing speech and language therapy to children in grades K to 12. She then ran the Bend Scottish Rite Clinic providing speech and language therapy to preschool-aged children.
Stephanie sets her goals to the highest standards by working with children, their families, and coordinating services with other professionals. She excels in helping children with speech delays and disorders, such as articulation and phonological disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, and stuttering. Stephanie also specializes in treating language delays and disorders due to developmental disorders such as Downs Syndrome, high functioning autism and Asperger's Syndrome, as well as those due to unknown cause. She takes a special interest in childhood hearing disorders and children fitted with cochlear implant. Stephanie works with children of all ages from preschool, elementary school, and middle-school aged children. Family involvement is a key component in Stephanie's treatment. When Stephanie is not working with her clients, she spends time with her husband and two children. She volunteers at her daughter's elementary school and her son's middle school. For leisure, Stephanie enjoys the outdoors Central Oregon has to offer and her favorite activities are hiking and nordic skiing.
